For its construction in nine months, at least 1.460 m3 of concrete is used. All building material is supplied from the old Causeway by narrow-gauge railway. Prior to its construction, the highest dune of the island is excavated, the 'Poemelsduin', and then applied again to camouflage

In 1943, on its top they would have placed a 30 meter high antenna mast FuMG.42 with type name 'Wassermann-S(chwer = heavy). This one is able to monitor airspace within the range of 300 kilometers on approaching aircraft. However, the mast does not fit into the constructed base. Some claim, that this is the result of sabotage. To others it seems like a fable, given the ‘thoroughness’ of the German Bauleitung. In addition, it states in 1943 that the Wassermann-S radar is no longer useable given to innovative technique of disturbance (jamming). Already during construction, the Germans choose the lighter type radar antenna ‘Wasserman MII’, located along the Jacobs Path. Bunker Wassermann is a failed project of the Nazis

Tegenwoordig wordt de bunker bewaard als monument | Around 1950, the top of the former bunker operates as a terrace. It is not a success. Then, the previously formed ‘Corps Air Watchkeeping’ uses the complex for aircraft recognition and exercise. Today the bunker is preserved as a monument
